New boots - Early Christmas Present!

At the moment I have been falling in love with the colour burgundy and own three pairs of shoes in this colour (velvet material boots, vans and high heels). However I recently went shopping and spotted these gorgeous black boots, with studded sides and since I bought them I have worn them so much. I am an absolute sucker for boots, they are comfortable, warm in the winter and look great with dresses, shorts or jeans.

New Look Black Studded Heel Zip Ankle Boots £24.99

At only £25 these boots are a complete bargain and with 2 colours to choose from black and tan (shown below), they also have a simple studded design around the back. They have a mid heel making them comfortable to wear, they also look great with any floral dress giving the outfit edgier look. They are made of a very soft yet durable material making them very practical.

Make-Up Advent Calenders

I was shopping recently and came across some really cool make-up advent calenders in Selfridges. As much as I love opening a little door everyday in December and having a little gorgeous piece of chocolate, I would much rather have one of these which would last way longer.

This Ciate advent calender comes in really cool packaging and includes a mini pot of nail varnish inside everyday plus it only costs £38. It includes 17 best selling paint pot colours (in mini bottles), 3 limited edition colours exclusive to this set for a total of 20 bottles and mini bottles of caviar beads. The colours included are:
  • speed dial 023
  • cupcake queen 012
  • ladylike luxe 059
  • cabaret 046
  • big yellow taxi 074
  • dangerous affair 013
  • power dressing 063
  • angel wings 090
  • cutie pie 026
  • cookies and cream 058
  • fade to greige 071
  • twilight 072
  • vintage 018
  • mojito 018
  • headliner 066
  • halo 089
  • mistress 039
  • glass slipper (sephora exclusive)
  • enchanted rose (sephora exclusive)
  • magic carpet (sephora exclusive)
  • caviar pearls sundance
  • caviar pearls prom queen
  • caviar pearls candyshop
  • caviar pearls bumble bee

This second advent calender includes all kinds of make-up from  LancĂ´me, Giorgio Armani, Kiehl's, Shu Uemura, Viktor & Rolf and Yves Saint Laurent but it doesn't come cheap £80!

Liz Earle Advent Calender

You Beauty Advent Calender
The next two advent calenders are my favourite, they are both beautifully packaged and contain lots of amazing goodies.

The Liz Earle calender houses samples of all their best selling skincare, eye care, haircare and body care but costs a pricey £100.

The You calender wil be a lot better for you if you are not so much of a skincare enthusiast. It is made up of 24 different branded beauty samples including Benefit, St Tropez, Espa, L'Occitane, Eve Lom and Dermalogica (a few of my favourites from the long list). There is much more of a variation of products in this one, from mascara and lip balm, to hair masks and hand cream. The calendar is worth over £210, so you are getting yourself an absolute bargain as it only costs £59.95. It's like one giant beauty box! :)

Winter Fashion Trend 2012 - Skater Skirts

When I say trends, I mean things that me and my friends wear. This is from the highstreet and affordable, not trends that are off the catwalk and cost thousands of pounds!

My first trend is the skater skirt, everyone has been wearing them this autumn/winter and they look amazing paired with a leather jacket and some little boots. They can be purchased in many highstreet stores such as h&m, Topshop and River Island, and look good on pretty much anyone.
Topshop Black Full Skater Skirt £38

Topshop Blue Sequin Skater Full Skirt £45

Both these skater skirts are from Topshop and are probably some of the priciest on the market, this is because of their material. Both are extremely high quality and would look great on a night out with tights and heels. They would make a great Christmas/New Year outfit.

River Island Coral Skater Skirt £16

Skater skirts are extremely versatile and can be worn any time of year, in the summer they look great with a little crop top and flipflops.

boohoo.com Jess Skater Skirt in Bottle £10

These skater skirts are a must have in your wardrobe, they only cost £10 and are made of a good quality jersey material.

There are hundreds of ways to style a skater skirt so make sure you have one :)

Maybelline ‘Fit Me’ Range Review

I have just bought the whole Maybelline 'Fit Me' range and it is really good. The foundation, powder and concealer come in three tones light, medium and dark and match my skin tone really well making your skin really clear of any blemishes and making it appear extremely smooth.

I have the foundation in shade 135, the concealer in shade 135, the powder in shade 220 and the blusher in peach. I find the colours all complement each other and using all the products together is really good. After buying the foundation and concealer in the darkest light shad, I found that the powder is rather light compared to these two. So opted for a medium shade of this which blends really well.

As you can see the foundation gives a really good cover and lasts for the whole day and your face does not become shiny if you apply the pressed powder every 4 hours.
The only problem with it is that it can be a little tricky to blend if you have any dry patches on your skin. I recommend wetting the brush a little before application.

It is extremely easy to find your skin tone as Maybelline provides skin charts to ensure you get the right tones.

The foundation in the Fit Me line comes very well presented within a glass bottle with black
accents and a built in pump which prevents waste from dispensing excess product.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is presented within a long slim tube and has a doe foot applicator
which I loathe in lip gloss products but find it to work very well with this kind of product
as it allows you to dab on the product and then blend out using your fingertips/brush.

Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder feels rather pricey and looks pretty swish despite being encased in a plastic square black compact that features a soft facial puff to apply or touch up during the day and a sizeable mirror which always comes in handy.

The Fit Me Pressed Powder has a soft velvet like texture that sets make-up and reduces shine
from the face without masking the face and wore for around 4 hours at a time on my oily skin.

The Maybelline Fit Me* collection is available now at most Maybelline stockists
but has not crept online as of yet!
